Northern Lights is a common name for the Aurora Borealis (Polar Aurorae) in the Northern Hemisphere. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon averages 40 °C (104 °F). The lagoon is fed by the water output of the nearby geothermal power plant Svartsengi. Superheated water is vented from the ground near a lava flow and used to run turbines that generate electricity. After going through the turbines, the steam and hot water passes through a heat exchanger to provide heat for a municipal hot water heating system. Then the water is fed into the lagoon for recreational and medicinal users to bathe in. Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut - In perfect harmony with nature the temple nestles against a 280m high wall of rock. The temple rises in three terraces, which are elaborately decorated with a hypostyle hall, pillars, statues and reliefs. The different levels are connected by a series of ramps. The Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is situated beneath the cliffs at Deir el Bahari on the west bank of the Nile near the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. From there took the ferry to Tallin (Estonia), stayed for a day and next to Riga (Latvia) by bus. After a day another bus to Vilnius (Lithuania) where I stayed for 2 days. Following, catched the last bus of the trip to Liepaja (Latvia) from where 2 days later got the airplane back to the UK...Obviously, many interesting things happened in between and on those places; too long to explain, just check the pics! 50 million years ago the Giant's Causeway's hexagonal rocks and columns were created by huge lakes of molten lava cooling slowly and evenly. Geological phenomenon on the North Antrim coast renowned for its polygonal columns of layered basalt, the only World Heritage Site in Ireland. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986, and a National Nature Reserve in 1987 (by the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland). Most of the columns are hexagonal, however there are some with four, five, seven and eight sides. The tallest are about 12 metres (36 ft) high, and the solidified lava in the cliffs is 28 metres thick in places.
